This lesson is designed in little modules. The central piece is a Primary Source reading describing the Defenestration of Prague (1618) from the Point of View of a Catholic. The reading includes the source reading as well as questions (embedded after each paragraph) that help students to understand the events in the reading and the Point of View. It also includes a graphic organizer to help students organize the most important points leading up to the defenestration (from their textbook reading), the events of the defenestration, and its impact. There are also two visual images (one, a woodcut of the defenestration the other a painting of the Virgin Mary "saving" the defenestrated men). In addition, there is a little project that has students creating a "Twitter Feed" of the events described in the Primary Source.
