This resource is designed to be used during Reading Workshop and is to be used with The Secret Life of Daisy Fitzjohn by Tania Unsworth (also known as Brightwood). It has been designed in alignment with the 2014 National Curriculum of England’s English objectives for Reading and Writing - curriculum links are outlined on the different activities to provide focus for assessment.
There are questions to be done with a Guided Reading group that is working with the support of a teacher or teaching assistant (largely comprehension-based), as well as follow-up activities for the children to do in other stations of Reading Workshop (spelling, writing) independently.
This pack has been designed to print off as a booklet for the duration of the novel study for each child, but the pages can also be cut apart to include in separate Reading Workshop folders. Additionally, a link is provided to view a digital file for editing and sharing on Google Classroom or Seesaw.
