Product Description
This 6 page movie guide accompanies the movie "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty"

Part 1 – There are 35 questions in chronological order. Ideally, students should complete this part after the movie, and instead write notes while watching to help answer the questions later. (Answer key included)

Part 2 – (Creativity)
• The first part involves the student completing an imaginary E-Harmony profile. The idea is that they make it as interesting as possible as it’s connected to the second part.
• The second part is writing back to someone who sent them a message in E-Harmony. The student has to recount a typical day that they have. They should make it as extravagant as possible to try and make them look good.

Part 3 – Students to choose 2 of the 3 given daydreams Walter had in the movie and to write their own account of what happened in them.

This movie is about Walter Mitty, an employee at Life magazine, who spends his time developing photos for the publication. To escape the tediousness of his job, Walter inhabits a world of exciting daydreams in which he is the undeniable hero.

How can movies help students learn English?

Learning from movies is motivating and enjoyable
- Sometimes students need a change in style, and movies are generally an integral
part of a student's life.

Movies provides authentic and varied language
- It's always a good idea to introduce students examples of English in real
situations. This includes accents different to your own.

Movies gives a visual context
- This gives the student the ability to interpret the language in full visual context.
To see such visual supports as facial expressions and gestures simultaneously.

Variety and flexibility
- Movies can also act as a springboard for follow-up tasks such as discussions,
debates on social issues, role plays, reconstructing a dialogue or summarising.
