The Shack does a wonderful job at asking the hard questions that many people ponder about Christianity. Use this movie guide to engage your students and increase their understanding of the big issues discussed in this film. Don't forget to download a free Book & Movie Comparison worksheet (see below) if your class has also read the 2007 novel by William Young.
Discuss with your students the 11 high-level, short answer and essay questions by pausing at the designated times on the movie guide. See the thumbnails for example questions and the preview file for higher resolution sample questions.
An answer key is not included as many questions are open-ended and encourage students to analyze the film. Many answers will not fit into a 'box'. Students are encouraged to construct their own meaning from the characters' dialogue and behavior. On average, completing this movie guide will require about 30-45 minutes in addition to the length of the movie
