This activity bundle may make up most of, if not all, of a unit plan on the six common math functions: linear, absolute value, quadratic, exponential, rational, and radical.
The activities start with real-life problems that are interesting and fun for the students. They may be completed as an interactive lecture to introduce or revisit the students to the functions. The activity bundle has over 40 word problems and 21 scenarios to represent the functions. The word problems are given using a "four square" (graphic organizer) method of solving. The format helps students who are not comfortable with solving word problems.
Two assignments that use the "tree map" organizer are provided. The tree maps are an excellent way for students to categorize scenarios into their corresponding functions.
The bundle also includes a card-matching activity, where the students match various properties, pictures, and graphs to their functions.
A "make your own function cards" assignment is included as well. This assignment has the students using higher-order thinking.
Finally, the bundle includes a sample rap (lyrics only) that the students may use or can be used as an example to challenge the students to write their own rap, song, or poem.
This product includes all of the products I have in my store related to the Six Most Common Math Functions.
