Purpose: The overarching goal of this lesson is to teach students about the organs and the functions of the skeletal system and to have them memorize the major bones in the body. This is the beginning of a unit on the Human Body systems. This lesson will also be teaching students about the different types of joints in the body. It explains how they move their bodies and are able to stand up and move about.

Objectives: As a result of this lesson
• Students will be able to label a skeleton diagram and answer basic questions about the function of the skeletal system
• Students will be able to describe different types of joints in the human body including ball-and-socket, hinge, gliding, and condyloid joints.
