I love to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday with my kiddos and enjoy his stories! With this story I review story element standards. The Sneetches has a great message for children about accepptance. I use comprehension questions that are specific to the text that the students are using. It makes it easier to give them specific feedback and guidance.
The Sneetches task card question set has 6 comprehension questions and 6 vocabulary questions with an answer key for easy accountability.
The comprehension questions include the following skills:
- Problem and Solution
- Character Motivation
- Key Details
I have included the following graphic organizers:
- Beginning, Middle, End
- Story Elements Chart
- A central message worksheet that uses synthesizing as a strategy to get to the central message.
- A character study worksheet with character traits and motivations.
- A Double Bubble Map to compare and contrast the Star-Belly Sneetches and the Plain-Belly Sneetches
Thank you for your interest in my work!
