The Sniper: Figurative Language
This is a lesson plan and student materials to accompany Liam O’Flaherty’s short story “The Sniper.” This complete lesson focuses on analysis of figurative language in the story. There are three sets of close readings students complete in order to identify figurative language and analyze its purpose. It is designed for a 90 minute class period, but could be split into two parts for shorter classes.
