This is a 16 page packet that focuses on the phonemic awareness skills of syllables, rhyming, and onset-rime blending. The activities in this pack utilize vocabulary from the book The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats. The book must be purchased separately.

There are four different activities included in this pack.

How Many Syllables?- Students count the number of syllables,

and use Do-A-Dot markers to complete the activity. (worksheet)

Blending Syllables– Students listen to two syllables, and state the

word that they hear. (cards and game board)

Generating Rhyme- Students are given a word, and asked to state

a rhyming word. (cards and game board)

Blending Monosyllable Words Onset-Rime–

Students listen to an onset and a rime, and asked to state the word they hear when the sounds are blended together. (cards and game board)
