This packet includes a color version of a an informational reader. Each planet has a fact page. This can be projected or printed and read aloud. The students may then complete a writing journal about the planets, moon, sun, stars, asteroids, and astronauts. They will be able to differentiate between the inner rocky planets and outer gas giants. A Venn diagram is provided along with a coloring activity to help solidify this idea. I have included a mnemonic coloring page along with several other coloring pages.
Along with planet fact pages, an ABC order page, a book review, a read and sequence page, and a true false quiz, I have included several writing prompts. A few include large graphics, which can be made into displayed projects.
The writing prompts are:
*If I went to outer space, I would
*If I met an alien, I would
*If I could live on any planet, I would
*describe your own alien
*If I was an astronaut, I would
*On my space mission, I discovered
*I took a peek out the porthole, and I saw
*I discovered a new planet. It is called...
*Astronaut can, have, are
Lastly, I have included various hyperlinks to videos I really enjoy about the planets. The songs are really fun and help the kiddos remember the planet names and fun facts!
