This script was written for 4 students. It was written to teach or reinforce a lesson about the Son's of Liberty. In the script, Bob has been invited to join the Son’s of Liberty but has some questions. John, Patrick, and Paul answer those questions and reassure him that the Son’s of Liberty are needed to protest the British government’s rule of the American colonies. By the end of the script Bob is ready to join and now knows many interesting facts about the Son’s of Liberty. There is a short writing prompt at the end of the script.
I use reader's theaters to encourage my students to practice fluency. It is a fun way to do something that they need. Most of my scripts are in black and white so they photo copy easily. The problem with many other reader's theaters is that students spend a lot of time waiting for their part. When you have a small group they get more practice in and less off task behaviors take place.
