Students put themselves in the shoes of someone in 1975 giving a career day presentation to a high school about joining the space program. There are 8 requirements for the project, all clearly outlined in the handout. Students are responsible for a combination of hard facts, historical creativity, and personal creativity. The project adds up to 100 points and a points distribution is included.
Sample tasks for the students to complete include:
-What is the purpose of the space program?
-What are 4 things the space program has already accomplished?
-If someone can not become an astronaut for one reason or another, what other options do they have for still being involved in the space program?
