This is a cute activity to do with your students to reinforce that the verb estar is used for location. It starts off with a practice. You will need a projector to see the powerpoint on your whiteboard. It begins with 8 slides. Have a student come to the board and answer the question. There is a funny picture and they will need to answer: "Where are the bananas?" They would write in Spanish: "They are on the truck." After the warm up. I talked about the Spot books. Many students remember them from their childhoods. This books asks where spot is and they lift the flap of paper to find him. I found this book in Spanish at our local library to share. They will create their own page of this book. First they select and animal and a place it could be hiding. The powerpoint has a list of animals and places to give them ideas. They need glue, paper, pens and creativity to make their pages. They turn out very cute and the students love sharing them. This is a lot of fun! I have them first write out the two sentences on another piece of paper that I edit. Once it is edited, I give them the blank paper to begin the final product.
