Help students distinguish between literal and non-literal language using these kid friendly graphic organizers. Five of the organizers include a figurative language phrase for the text titled The Stories Julian Tells by Ann Cameron. Students are to describe what is being compared in each phrase. Then create an illustration of the author's meaning and describe the literal meaning and non-literal meaning of the phrase. There is also a blank copy of the organizer for students to identify their own figurative language phrase from the text.
