This activity is student centered and Common Core! First, students read a two page close reading history of the life of Buddha, his philosophy and its affect on Ancient China. After the reading, students complete a common core writing guide and analyze the text by providing evidence to support claims about his life and philosophy.
As a homework extension activity or another post reading option, students complete a Twitter timeline template. They act is if they are Buddha who has tweeted about major events in his life and the four noble truths. This activity is fun and easy to implement.
