After reading The Story of Ruby Bridges by Robert Coles, the students will answer 3 questions and write a short summary. They will need to use the information from the book and their inference skills to answer the questions. Once the questions are complete, the students will need to use the 5 W's (who, what, where, when, and why) to summarize what happened in the story. Finally, the students will imagine they were at the school when Ruby was walking in. They will make their own poster to encourage Ruby as she walks into the school.
