This zip file includes three assignments for Robert Louis Stevenson's novella, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde:
1. 10 deep questions that can be used for discussions, essays, or journals
2. Directions and a rubric for a poster project that has students relate the novella to the popular media, current events, and their own lives
3. Directions for students to work in groups to write and present "mini-lectures" on some of the topics from the deep questions list
Although The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde has distinctly Victorian elements, the idea of having two sides to oneself is always relevant. The students always get into highlighting modern examples of that struggle.
