Students will work over three days to answer three big questions about sections of the text. Use as a mini-lesson, close reading, or guided reading plan.
Includes vocabulary support and scaffolded text-dependent comprehension questions leading up to the big question, a criteria for success, and anticipated student responses.
Day One: What is Nib like?
Day Two: What is Nib’s problem? How does he attempt to solve his problem?
Day Three: What is the central message? What in the text makes you think that?
