This is the simplified demo version of The Tournamator.
You've seen tournament templates online, they're okay for single-elimination, but what if you don't want students sitting idle after being eliminated? You need round-robin style play. Here comes, "The Tournamator"…an automatic roster/team generator, game organizer, and scoring system that will save you hours of organizing brackets and totalling scores. All you need is MS-Excel or the free spreadsheet product Open Office. (downloadable at OpenOffice.org)
Ideal for group or head-to-head competition, the "Tournamator" gives you total control of team set-up and automatic, individual scoring! Simply enter the names of each player (or team) on the ROSTER tab, go to the appropriate tab for the type of tournament you are running, and enter game scores as your tournament progresses. "The Tournamator" keeps track of each player's cumulative score, and where the individual or team competes in the next round.
How many students? If you assign teams and enter those in the NAME column on the ROSTER page, then there are no limits ! As far as tracing individual scores? "The Tournamator" can handle as few as 2, and as many as 32 ! If you have an odd number of students or teams, simply enter the word "bye" or a "0" in the roster and it will evenly distribute the gap during the game rounds. That means either each player will get a break during one game, or a team will be shorted one player for one round. But again, if you enter team names in the NAME column on the ROSTER page, then quantity doesn't matter.
And yes, if you simply want a team rather than individual players in the game rotation, simply enter the team name in the roster rather than an individual name.
And yes, if you don't play all the games, that's okay. The scorekeeper will tally as many games that were played.
This free demo version THE TOURNAMATOR Jr. provides 3v3 competition for 6 players, up to 6 games.
The expanded version of THE TOURNAMATOR includes:
6 players, 3v3, up to 6 games
8 Players, 2v2 or 4v4, up to 6 games
10 Players, 5v5 up to 6 games
12 Players, 3v3 or 2v2 up to 6 games
16 Players 1v1, up to 10 games
32 Players, 1v1, up to 10 games
* As a bonus, for after school parties you also get a convenient couple's card game tournament planner and automatic scorer…good for single or 2-person teams playing Euchre, Hearts, Spades, etc. It handles groups of 4, 8 or 16 players. Chips and beverages not included.
Hopefully, you will have as much fun using this as I had making it. The Jr. version will at least get you familiar with the format, but the punch is in the expanded version.
