A mini book that tells the tale of how a little mouse turned purple.
Focus is on the characters, 3 little mice with the unusual names "One", "Two", and "Three".
Skills include the color words "red", "blue", and "purple" and the number words one-five, the elements of text such as characters, setting, problem, and solution, and color mixing to create purple.
How to use this mini book:
\Run off copies of the 7 page mini book in order.
\Cut the sets in half and staple a the left side.
\Introduce the number words one, two, three, four,
\Students write their name on the mini book cover.
\Introduce the characters: The mice have number
names: One, Two, and Three! :o)
\Cover page: The students should write the numeral 1
on the first white mouse, a 2 on the second white
mouse, and a 3 on the 3rd white mouse.
\Page 1: Students trace the word three and may
write the numerals 1, 2, and 3 on the mice.
\Page 2: Students trace the word five and color the
\Page 3: Students trace the words One and red
and color the mouse red.
\Page 4: Students trace the words Two and blue
and color the mouse blue.
\Page 5: Students trace the word Three and color one
sitting mouse red and one blue. Discuss the problem.
\Page 6: Students trace the words One and Two and
color one mouse red & one blue. Discuss the solution.
\Page 7: Students trace the words Three and
purple and color the standing mice red and blue
and the sitting mouse in front purple.
\Read the book together and listen for the rhymes on
