Students repeat sentences, filling in the "blank" trying to "match" the teacher response. They will score one point if they match the teacher. When all students have written down a word, each student quickly says the sentence with their word choice. Then, the teacher repeats the sentence with his or her word choice: “I ate an apple.” (name a fruit)
Verbs covered in these 20 sentences: ate, said, saw, bought, brought, made, drank, took, slept, came, did, met, wrote, gave, swam, sang, sat, ran, had, drew.
Student worksheet (which repeats the sentences used in the game) included for written work after the game. Game sentences hold answer key for worksheet.
