This is a whole novel unit for the novel The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau.

LITERATURE PLAN INCLUDES:
Chapter questions: 4-6 questions per chapter with a short writing response on almost half the chapters.
Vocabulary Words: Included is a list for 25 words from chapters 1-5 and 25 words from chapters 12-17. These are concluded with vocabulary quizzes. The other two sections of 25-30 words each are expressed in vocabulary worksheets.
Writing Prompts: There are 6 longer writing prompts spread throughout the novel. Several have multiply prompts for the students to choose from.
Research Project: Group or solo project on research and presentation of an American Colony to draw connections from American Literature to the novel.
Discussion based group assignments: one is an Anticipatory Set prior to the reading of the novel, the other is a group exam activity that connects with the middle of the novel.
Artistic Representation: an assignment that includes drawing, creativity, and writing
Background Powerpoint: Novel connections between The Crucible and The Testing as this novel can be taught instead of Arthur Miller's play.
