Promote class community and embrace the Thanksgiving tradition by having your students write why they are thankful for their classmates. The Thankful Project helps students share how they value their classmates and themselves.
This product contains four different types of writing pages to accommodate writers at different levels: words written in, tracing words, blank pages with dashes, and single lined blank pages.
Write the names of your students on slips of paper and pick a name. The name of the student that is picked is the one that the class writes about. Students will all write why they are thankful for that student. The student can work on their book cover while the others are writing.
Once all students have written why they are thankful for that student, the teacher compiles the pages to make a book. Continue with this process until a book is made for each student in the class. This activity is great for morning work, writing centers, or your writing block.
For an at-home option, parents can give each family member a page to write why they are thankful for the child. Once all pages are completed, the parent can compile all of the pages to make a book for their child.
