Thanks for checking out my “Fairy Tales Readers’ Theater – The Three Billy Goats Gruff.” Fairy tales are enjoyed by kids, no matter what age. Their magical stories, brave characters and heroic solutions to problems all create a sense of inspiration in all of us. What better way to learn key reading skills than by joining these great stories with Readers’ Theater!
Readers’ Theater allows students to become involved in the story in a deeper level. My plays have generally 4-6 parts, allowing for small group participation. This one has 6 parts. The Fairy Tales I use are not your typical “princess” fairy tales; I like to choose ones that would have interest with boys just as much as with the girls.
Lessons included are aligned with Common Core’s teaching strategies for grades 1, 2, and 3. Each grade level has its own unique plan, giving much versatility to these plays. They follow a “Before Reading; During Reading; and After Reading” format. Detailed instructions are included, as well as graphic organizers that accompany each lesson. There is also a “Writing Extension” included with each lesson.
Some great uses for this play (and other ones in my store) … perfect for short weeks, days between units, sub plans, beginning or end of the school year, or can be sent home for summer reading practice.
If you like this play, check out my other plays in my store. You will find other fairy tales and Aesop's fables. There is a bundle of Aesop's fable plays, bundle of Fairy Tale plays, and a large bundle including of all my Aesop's Fables and Fairy Tales. Each bundle saves you money, so check out these resources before purchasing one of the single plays. (One of my freebies is an Aesop's Fables play so you can see what my work is like).
