PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This file contains a 6 page Common Core literature lesson for a read-aloud of Eric Carle's, The Tiny Seed. The Tiny Seed is a great story to go with your plants and life cycle units this spring. This lesson includes pre-reading discussions including vocabulary development and story intro; during reading prompts including making predictions; post-reading comprehension/discussions including a comparison to Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar, which is also about a life cycle.

There is an extension activity which can be used for writing.

There are directions for having your learners participate in a cooperative group response activity. This response activity can also be done by individuals.

This lesson is Common Core aligned!
