Based on the story "the mitten", I created a this book about a little girl who loses her toque in the forest on a cold winter day. A few animals get in the toque which stretches until it pops.
The book contains 23 pages, 1/2 with vibrant hand drawn pictures scanned at 300 dpi and coloured with the computer, and 1/2 with the words to the story.
This book can be used in the classroom to read to children or to let the children look at the pictures and/or read themselves. The text is simple enough for early readers to learn to read or practice reading skills.
An easy way to use this book with children is to print the pages into regular paper or cardstock, put pages back to back in groups of two and laminate. Then. make two wholes in each page and attach with rings. That way the children can see the pictures while you read the text without having to hold the book in awkward positions.
I have used this book with preschoolers and they love it!
