Pg. 6-8 Spelling Teller! - fold like a fortune teller, work with a partner, move the teller as you spell your words, have your partner follow the directions inside the spelling teller, take turns
Pg. 9-12 Let’s Plant Some Flowers In Poppleton’s Garden – copy pages A and B back to back, fold on the dotted lines, write words with the prefix re- on the flowers and glue them into the garden
Pg. 13-15 Poppleton’s Garden Bag1 Story Structure – cut out the bag and holes for the handles, glue on the sides to form a pocket, cute out the story structure cards and put them into the garden bag

Pg. 17-22 I Need a Tree! – creative writing and craft project – the tree needed the birds – well, we need trees – for air, climbing, reading a book under – why do you need a tree? Copy the patterns onto colored construction paper, copy the writing paper, sandwich the writing paper between the leaves of the tree and staple on top to form a book, glue the trunk and leaves to large construction paper – add the face, hands, and yarn to show yourself peeking around the tree – colored pencils were used to draw the face details
Pg. 23-29 Poppleton’s Tree Needs Words! – a game to practice your High Frequency Words! Place the cards face down in a pile. Everyone gets a tree game board. Take turns picking a card to read. If you read it correctly, place the card on your tree, if you read it incorrectly, put it back into the pile and lose a turn. If you already have that word on your tree, return the word to the pile and lose your turn. If you pick up a cheese or bone card, you lose a turn. The winner gets all the words on his/her tree first. For 2-4 players. This can be laminated.
