This reader's theater was written for a small group of 5 students. It was written to introduce and reinforce the topic of recycling as well as discuss Earth Day. In this script, five students have volunteered to help their teacher clean up after the class party. They get into a discussion about how they can reduce their garbage and why they should. Through this script, students are introduced to a poem to help them remember how to recycle. It is called The Triple R Test. I use all of my Reader's Theaters to help students improve their fluency. My students, especially the ones struggling to read, still require motivation to improve and that is where Reader's Theater comes in. My name is Melanie Whitesides but my store name is Wonbyone. I hope that you will enjoy this small group Reader's Theater. As I have said before, small groups are better because students aren't waiting as long to do their part and they get more practice in and you get less off task behaviors. My ESL students find these scripts to be their favorite part of our lesson time. Please let me know what you think of this one. Most of my scripts are black and white to make it easier to photocopy and cost less ink. Thank you.
