This folktale and fractured folktale comparative book study was created for use with The True Story of the Three Little Pigs
by Jon Scieszka and a more traditional retelling of The Three Little Pigs
. These are fantastic stories for introducing point of view, compare and contrast, and so much more!
Here's what you'll find inside:
• Twelve comprehension strips with recording sheets
• A compare and contrast writing activity with a graphic organizer
• A summary writing activity for The Three Little Pigs
• Creative writing prompts
All the activities are designed to help students compare and contrast, read for understanding, and think critically about folktales. All recording sheets and prompts are offered with and without handwriting lines.
In my classroom, I use James Marshall’s version of the original folktale, but any traditional retelling should pair well with the activities.
This resource is also included in my Comparing Folktales and Fractured Folktales Bundle
