Description

Children really love this sequencing activity because they get to move around, and it is actually very good practice in the skill of ordering 27 events in time after the novel has been completed.

There is a physicality to it that helps some children who have difficulty conceptualizing events in progressive order.

This is a great book for a class or family read-aloud!

Just like the most famous of E.B. White’s children’s novels, Charlotte’s Web, it is profound and wise. The novel brims with sage perceptions into nature, disability, and maturation, while adding insight and a few chuckles surrounding love, jazz, camps, zoos, and hotels. Louis, the main character, sets goals and achieves them with hard work and earnestness.

Detailed teacher instructions describe the how to achieve effective classroom use.

An additional one page worksheet is provided for extra practice in sequencing 16 of these events from the novel. This worksheet can be used in Distance Learning because it does not require movement around the classroom.

Instructions for how to make a STORY QUILT are also added to this activity, if desired.

Answer Keys are provided, as well as a blank master for additional cards, if you choose.
