(Editable) Back to School Night Presentation Slides - 31 slides that are editable for you to fill in your school's specific information to help guide you through your back to school presentation! This product is listed for sale separately as well, or you can save by buying it in this bundle!
Classroom Carousel of Questions - This is my FAVORITE way of creating classroom “rules”… I like to call them “norms”. Hang these posters around your room. Each poster has a question regarding classroom conduct and school. You could have students use post-it notes to submit their answers under the poster OR glue these posters to an anchor chart and provide students with tools to write their answers on the chart. Play music when it’s time for students to rotate, or play music while they write and when the music stops, students rotate. This is my opportunity to teach how we move around the room and attend to transitions! Once students have recorded their answers underneath of the posters, engage in a discussion surrounding each question. Look for repeat answers, common themes… then develop your classroom “rules” or “norms” WITH your students using what they’ve shared with you!
(Editable) All About Me Paper Bag Project! - This is a great activity to send home with students during the first week of school. Use this as a means of getting to know your students and allowing them to share what they love about themselves with you! Included are a variety of direction sheets! There are 2 title styles, each with 4 different wording options that vary in the amount of verbiage and points/no points. You also get one COMPLETELY editable version of each style!
Write the Room A-Z! Activity - This activity makes for a PERFECT morning work activity during the first day or first week of school. Students will search around the room looking for objects or resources that begin with each letter of the alphabet. In doing so, students are becoming more and more acclimated with their new learning environment!
Let's Be Friends Cootie Catcher! - I love using this resources as an “early finisher” activity for students during the first week of school. It keeps students busy as you are practicing reinforcing your routines and expectations, but also allows students to practice using a variety of classroom materials such as crayons and scissors… a perfect time to teach those expectations! In addition, students can use this tool as a fun way to ask their new classmates interesting and silly questions to get to know each other better!
Find Someone Who... Get to Know You Activity! - Encourage your students to make new friends and learn new things about one another using this fun activity!
Direct students to go around the room seeking students who can identify with a description found on their board. The student they find that matches the description should write their name in the box. This is a great way for students to make connections with one another, realize commonalities, and step out of their comfort zones!
The Toothpaste Challenge! - This challenge involves students working collaboratively with their peers, and teaches a valuable lesson about how when we say unkind words, they’re easy to say but very difficult to take back. You'll get direction slides + a reflection sheet for students.
The Save Fred Challenge! - This challenge offers another opportunity for students to work collaboratively with their new classmates while also learning the value of accountable talk and communication skills! It’s always a hit! You'll get direction slides, planning sheets for students, + a reflection sheet for students.
All 10 of these products will be great additions to your Back to School resources!
