Faced with teaching middle school sheltered ESL newcomer students (brand new to the country to a couple of years here) the U.S. Constitution, I found how little there is available to make the content comprehensible for ESL students. Over time, I made this presentation and the accompanying student booklets that go along with it. The student booklets have fill-in notes to go along with the presentation as well as vocabulary words and the space to define them.A lot of visuals are included to aid in comprehension.
I typically break it into parts beginning with The Framework of the Constitution and then moving into the articles with quizzes for each section. This does not include activities we do or videos we watch since much of what I use for those was gleaned from others. It is, however, a great foundational resource that clearly identifies and discusses each part of the government of the United States.
I've also shared these with special education teachers teaching modified curriculum
