DAILY WARM-UPS *** EXIT TICKETS (Formative Assessments) *** 10 to 12 QUESTION QUIZZES (Summative Assessments/Grades) *** ANSWER KEYS

This product helped our fourth grade writing team raise test scores with challenging students!!!

1. Seven Google Slide Shows with original "Mock" STAAR test questions - Cloned from 4th Grade Released STAAR Editing Multiple Choice Questions from 2016, 2017, and 2018. [Our writing team used these as daily warm-ups]

2. Seven Sets of Exit Tickets - Exactly correlate with slide show questions [Students answered two questions a day on a slide show. We learned the concept whole group, then students went to their desk, put up privacy boards, and answered two exit tickets. I placed stickers for correct answers (and required students to show proof of answers -ex: comma splice, you're - you are). I gave every student a drawing ticket. (a blank scrap of paper) All students who showed correct answers and showed proof were placed in a drawing for prizes. Students placed their exit tickets in their take home papers and began independent spelling practice on white boards while waiting for me to check all exit tickets. After spelling practice, we immediately had prize drawings. Our students loved this process, and the structure worked well with challenging students. Students who were poor listeners began listening because they desperately wanted to be in the drawings. The proof I began to receive was impressive! For prizes I typically used candy or chips.]

3. Seven 10 Question Quizzes that correlate with slide shows and tickets. [At the end of each week, we gave summative assessments, weekly grades, that correlate with the slide show and exit ticket questions.]
