Product Description
The Video Game Project: An End-of-Year ELA Activity for Upper Elementary is one of my all-time favorite end-of-the-year projects! Not only is engaging and rigorous, it is simple to differentiate and virtually print-and-go!

In this activity, students will assume the role of a video game designer. They need to submit a video game design to the fictional Nin, Ten, and Do, Inc. in the hopes that it will be selected for production. Students will complete a Video Game Submission Application where they will need to consider the following: plot, conflict, setting, character, and mood. Additionally, they will have to demonstrate their ability to write both narrative and expository text.

So, not only is this activity a blast for students to do, but it is also a great way to assess their understanding of many upper elementary/middle school ELA concepts!

Included in this product:

• Lesson Plans

• Video Game Submission Application Packet (in the application, students will be asked to consider: setting, conflict, major characters, minor characters, protagonist, antagonist, prologue, mood, sensory details, imagery. Additionally, they will need to complete both narrative and expository writing.)

• A variety of “Extras” that will allow you extend this project and keep students engaged right until the very end of the year

I hope your students ♥ this project as much as mine do!
