Here comes the Vocabulary Parade!!! :)
This set coincides with Reading Wonders 3rd Grade Vocabulary for all 6 units. I tried to keep the definitions as close to how they were stated in the books. I did make some a little more user friendly for the kids, thought. :) There are 8 words per unit. With switching to a new series this year, I wanted to find some fun ways to really get the vocabulary to stick and become a part of my students' daily talk.
***I have also included an EDITABLE template in PowerPoint so you are able to add more words or change around any of the definitions! :)
Make sure to check out my blog post below to take an in depth look at how I use these cards in my classroom with daily practice and the infamous Vocabulary Parade!!! My students BEG for us to do this!!!
A Vocabulary Parade
To get these vocabulary cards ready, I print them on colored card stock. Then, I laminate them and cut out a sliver at the top to put a name tag clip so my students can wear them. This, of course, is just one idea of how to use them. I've included the vocabulary larger at the top with the word's part of speech and definition. We come up with gestures as a class for each of the words as well which goes along with our parade.
I truly hope that these cards and ideas transform your classroom into a vocabulary powerhouse!!!
