Included are study questions for every chapter/month, as well as graphic organizers tailored specifically for this novel and aimed at distinct parts of particular chapters. There are NO ANSWERS for the study questions and organizers.
Also included is a two page all-novel test WITH ANSWER KEY.
Common Core of State Standards ELA 6.7.8 covered in this unit:
RL 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 My check list is included for RL skills.
W 2, 4, 5, 10
These lesson pages are professional looking, attractive and student friendly, supplying related information as needed: i.e. The Vietnam War and the Ides of March.
A glossary and vocabulary worksheet is here as well as a word search for proper names used in the novel.
Everything is student tested.
Literary term reviews are interspersed throughout the study questions as the need arises. There is also a literary terms reference sheet included here. (There are no explanations of the Shakespearean plays. I had them originally but they were very distracting.)
Finally, a STUDENT WRITING ASSIGNMENT is included, with detailed instructions. The assignment is keyed to student responses as per handouts they get at the beginning of the novel study. This meshes with 6 + 1 traits: Ideas, Organization, Word Choice, and to some extent Voice.
