This is an 11 half-page sized nonfiction text about worms. It includes facts, photographs, illustrations, and a reflective writing page in the back of the book. I used this in my class to read with one of Doreen Cronin's books. We read both texts and compared and contrasted them. After reading other paired texts with other Doreen Cronin works, we wrote our own "Diary of a ______" books. They turned out so great and the kids thought it was so much fun!
This is just the nonfiction book, easily used as a shared reading. I will be adding the other materials from the lesson at a later date, such as the Insect Diary book template, question cards, and handouts.
