Note: The preview does not show this book correctly. This book is made so that the top half and the bottom half are identical for easy collating and stapling. You just print, staple, and cut in half. It also shows a slanted font which is not in the book. The book uses the comic sans font.
This is a song book we make at the beginning of the school year to emphasize bus rules. It has my school's name on it, but you can simply highlight the name on each page and put your own school's name on it. The kids like singing the song with their school in it. There are 6 pages including the title page. They include the following verses: The children on the bus go up and down, sit in their seats, talk quietly, keep hands to themselves, and listen to their driver. To make this book, go to page set up and set your margins to .8" top and bottom and .5" left and right. Copy, and then cut in half as there are 2 pages per sheet. I like to give them two yellow 9 X 12 construction paper and let them create a bus for the front and back covers. They can draw windows and a door, bus features, and kid faces in the windows, etc. We also add black wheels to the front. I don't give them a pattern as I like them to be free-form. They book their book in the middle of one of the yellow pages and then draw a bus around it (so the book fits). Then, put the two yellow pages together and cut so they are the same size. You don't have to do this as the book is nice by itself. You can also find a bus clip art, enlarge it to book cover size and make the cover that way.
I have added page numbers and blanks for you to write your school's name.
