Practice includes multiple-choice or multiple-select choices. Some questions have a Part A and Part B response.

Context & Synonyms requires students to use context clues from the text to determine the meaning of unfamiliar words or words with multiple meanings. Students will get practice with using a dictionary and/or thesaurus.

5-Minute Journal Writing asks students to choose one sentence starter to begin writing on a topic for 5 minutes. Students are encouraged to use vocabulary words from the chapter in their writing. Students will then listen to and orally share their writing with a group or partner.
