-The Wild Robot bookmark with self-pacing guide for students. I have paced out these "chunks" to be 10-12 pages each. After each chunk is read, and comprehension questions are answered, student can CHECK off the box and move onto the next chunk.
(OVER 125 questions about):
-Who, what, where, when, why, & how
-Asks student to explain using details from the story
-Defining vocabulary using text clues
These could be used for written or oral comprehension!
There are a lot of ways to use these bookmarks and comprehension questions, but here is how I use them in my class:
-I start by printing out this document and turning it into a binder (yes, all 132 pages, but trust me it will make your life easier through this book club!)
-In this product you will find bookmarks with pacing guides. These bookmarks will allow for students to “book club” independently and self pace their own reading. I have paced out chunks of 10-12 pages. After reading each chunk, let students know how many questions they are expected to answer.
For example, I tell students to read a chunk (which are each around 10 pages) & choose two questions to answer. Student flip through the binder to find questions on the chapters they just read, choose 2, glue in their written response (or reading) journals, and answer (COMPLETELY)!
-You could also choose the questions yourself if you would like them to focus on something specific they are working on. There are so many options!
