This is a quick STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) challenge to get students to understand how wind energy is used with engineering and technology. One common thing with technology involves the movement of weight. In this project, the students will create an object that will be lifted by the wind energy of a fan to show how a technological device can extend a person's ability to do work.
Teachers can use this project as a great opening lesson for a deeper lesson about energy or wind power. This can also be used for an enrichment lesson, after school activity, or summer camp lesson.
