Two vocabulary exercises based on Chapter 4 of the novel by Roald Dahl.
In the word search there are 25 words for students to find. After they find the words in the grid, you could ask students to write a new sentence for each word, showing their understanding of it.
The Sentence Completion exercise uses the same 25 words. Students are asked to select the best word from the list to complete the sentences.
Use these activities to ensure that students are familiar with the vocabulary in the chapter. It's a good Friday afternoon activity, or useful for early finishers, or to give to a sub teacher. Students see the word search as a fun task, and most don't consider the sentence completion exercise to be difficult.
The solutions are included.
