The women’s rights movements in the United States began slowly. What began as a few women voicing their opinions for women’s rights, it grew into various movements across the country.
These movements gained speed and women joined organizations to give themselves political clout. The movements gained national attention when the first women's rights convention is held in Seneca Falls, NY in 1848. The Declaration of Sentiments, adopted there would set the tone for future women’s rights movements.
This presentation summarizes the various movements that occurred in the modern day beginning in 1960.
