The World According to Humphrey by Betty G. Birney - Literature Guide
This is a story about a hamster named Humphrey. Humphrey becomes the classroom pet in Room 26 at Longfellow School. Humphrey isn't well-liked by some people at first, but he manages to work his way into the hearts of those around him. This is a very cute story.

I use these literature guides in my third grade classroom. I make a packet for each student. I read the story aloud and discuss/answer the questions as a class. We look over the questions and answers before the next day's reading. I cover the majority of the common core language arts standards (for fiction) with read alouds. We summarize each chapter together on the event timeline page. I hope this is as useful to you and your students as it is to mine!
This is an Accelerated Reader Book - Level 4.2 and worth 4 points
