The World Health Organisation reported that about 140,000 people died due to the measles in 2018 and the measles epidemic in Samoa continued.
Greta Thunburg said governments must take action against climate change because the youth movement is growing. Dancers in Madrid protested by blocking a street near the UN conference on climate change. Forest fires covered Sydney. Two more indigenous climate change activists in Brazil were killed.
Cyprus lodged a case with the United Nations to protect its resources against exploration activities any Turkey. Myanmar's leader traveled to The Hague to defend her country against charges of genocide against the Rohingya in Rakhine state. A fire in central New Delhi killed factory workers sleeping in the factory.
Palestinian journalists were detained in Jerusalem. Israel's Prime Minister was charged with crimes related to the purchase of submarines from Germany. Mauritania's coast guard intercepted a boat carrying illegal migrants. And there were protests in France against imminent pension reform.
