The earliest efforts of children, like the earliest attempts of the human race, to record their observations and thoughts are by means of pictures. This is substantiated by caveman drawings and by the eager desire shown by youngsters to draw the natural world around them with crayon or pencil.
Trees, plants and flowers are familiar objects and occur in infinite variety and many forms. The World of Leaves has been developed as an aid to encourage young people to identify leaves, make their own pictures with leaf prints, and create their own Leaf Collector's Album.
The World of Leaves and the Leaf Collector's Album is an exciting and fascinating way to study nature and can be just as interesting as that of stamp collecting.
