Designed to save you hours of arguments over your teaching career, point a student who 'hasn't done anything wrong' or wants to know why they have a sanction to the 'Doing something wrong flowchart. It is very simple, 4 steps, notably only flowing in one direction with the schools behaviour management policies bluetacked underneath.
I have used it more in my tutoring than teaching and as with all things in teaching this is not going to 'fix' all of your challenging students. It does however in the time it takes for them to read it and try and work out a way to argue it give you some peace. With some individuals it can be interesting to allow them to draw up their own version or negotiate a version with you that allows you to work together.
