This product provides a full set of exercises and tests on the novel 'The fault in our stars' by John Green. There are 5 modules which each cover 5 chapters of the novel. The extension exercises consist of short questions on each chapter which are intended to function as informal worksheets for completion after reading each section. Questions cover background, plot, themes, characters and writing style. Use of imagery, diction and rhetorical devices is also featured. Each module of 5 chapters ends with a test/examination which uses a passage from the novel as a reference for contextual questions. These tests are balanced according to Barrett's taxonomy in a 40% literal, 40% inferential and 20% evaluative framework. In total there are 25 informal exercises and 5 formal assessments. Memorandums are provided with marking guides to suggest possible responses. These are not intended to be rigidly applied; the teacher should use discretion when assessing the work.
