Description

Want to study a classic in an unusual way? Les Misérables is a sung-through musical adaptation of Victor Hugo's 1862 novel of the story of the June rebellion of 1832, an uprising in Paris against the rule of King Louis-Philippe, fuelled by economic hardship and a cholera epidemic. It was quashed, and is remembered mainly for its inclusion in Hugo's novel. Students have an opportunity to study its journey to Broadway, plot, creative team, songs, composers, plot, trivia, etc.

The lesson can stand alone or be combined with one of my Famous Artist Biographies Hugh Jackman for example) or other musical lessons (Hamilton or Wicked)
