PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Corbin Abernathy is proud to present a Theatre for Social Change unit of work which utilizes practical exercises of the Epic Theatre style of Bertolt Brecht. This unit of work is designed to help your students give voice to what they might wish to change in their world.

Epic Theatre was created to be a force for change in the political and social realms. In this unit, your students will choose their own topic, develop a strong opinion surrounding that topic and create a piece of work designed to convince others to accept their point of view. One of the best features of this work is that students are encouraged to "present" rather than become their character. The actor and audience remain critically aware throughout a successful performance. Your more analytical actors will love it.

A curriculum guide and a short overview of Brecht's philosophy is included with 10 rigorous lesson plans.
